100 Belgian Blue heifers left this Friday, September 30 to Russia in 3 double-decker trucks.
Those animals are coming from 13 Walloon farms. They will join their companions that left last year in the Voronej region, about 650 km south of Moscow in Russia.
Those heifers aged 12 to 18 months are intended to develop the breeding of Belgian Blue in this contry.
Russia hopes through these exchanges, to create a showcase of this breed and get quality carcasses, to meet a growing demand for meat.
This new market confirms the deployment of BBG to the great East.
BBG wants to thank all those who participated to the success of this export and particularly the Tasiaux family of Hamois: Jean-Philippe and his sons, who took care of the animals during their quarantine period.
